Famous Boy Scouts
For more than 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has provided programs that help young boys develop character, focus on developing physical fitness and healthy choices, instill the importance of community service. It also helped build future leaders by educational activities and lifelong values in a fun way. Ranker has put together a few well know celebrities that were a part of this amazing program.

Famous Celebs

American filmmaker Steven Spielberg was an Eagle Scout from 1958-1965 and was a member of the national advisory board of the Boy Scouts of America between 1989-2001. Neil Alden Armstrong was an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the Moon, but before that, he was an Eagle Scout. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Boy Scout with Troop 151 in Atlanta, GA. He is well known for being an activist and leader in the Civil Rights Movement. A Texas favorite (and mine) George Strait was a Cub Scout before being known as the "King of Country.” 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was a Boy Scout with Troop 2 in Bronxville, NY between 1929-1931. A few other Presidents that were a part of the Boy Scouts are Bill Clinton, George W, Bush, and Barack Obama. The Cub Scouts program is for boys between 7-10 years old and sets the foundation that involves the whole family. The Boy Scouts the traditional Scouting experience that involves guidance from experienced leaders. In the Scouts, the young boys learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace, study wildlife and nature around them.
